Many cars these days use a “keyless-go” function to open/close the doors/trunk and to start the car without directly using the key of the car. This is very comfortable - but also very dangerous…
Many cars simply get stolen by standing with a signal receiver next to your house/flat door and catch up the car key signal from the inside of the flat and transmit the signal to another receiver/sender device many more meters away next to your car. The car opens, can be started and drives away without any “real” key inside of it until you turn it off again… Some of my friends lost their car with this simple method, which is explained here in more detail…
To avoid this you can simply wrap your car keys inside of your flat every time into aluminum foil or put it into a aluminium metal box each time to block the key signal. I think you will agree that the aluminum foil variant is not very useful… So the method to put it inside of a aluminium metal box might be better useable. This is where this catch-all tray takes place. Around the inside parts you wrap really close and without any holes some aluminum foil and protect the key and your car from this easy method to steal it…
The inside of the RFID box part is big enough even for larger or multiple keys.
Additional needed parts:
Some aluminum foil or thin aluminium tape (not tested so far).
Wrap and maybe try to glue the aluminum foil around the 2 inside parts as closed as possible to avoid any leakage. Any hole could lead to a not working signal shield. As you can see in the pictures the lid will cover the tray part some extra centimetres, so you need to attach the foil right up to the line where the angle starts only.
After mounting the aluminum foil put the car key into the base, close the lid and try to open/close your car by walking to it and use the door/trunk handles. The car doors/trunk should not open until you opened up the lid from the catch-all-tray again. Tested OK with ≥50cm of distance to the car.
After the successful function test use a bit of super glue to attach the inside and outside parts together.

No supports needed for all parts.
Brim set for Tray_RFID part to 5mm to avoid warping.
