Description
A project I’m considering for this summer is making a 3D printed mold to create a custom concrete planter for outside. I have zero experience with craft molds and casting objects. I figured starting small would be the best practice. I also tend to have drier skin, so I decided to try making my own soap as my first practice.
I made the mold in Blender. After some trial, error, and four versions, I was happy with it. I printed it twice. Once with one perimeter using a .8mm nozzle, and once with two perimeters using a .4mm nozzle. Both were printed in PETG filament, so I could flex the mold to release the soap. This way, the mold would be reusable.
It was definitely a learning experience that will help in future mold-making. I think the result of my first try at making soap was decent. I will practice a bit more with soap to get my confidence up to tackle a bigger project. Do you have any tips for me?
