Description
This is a display of a vintage Caltex logo. It is not scanned from the real logo, but it is an approximation of the vintage logo in OpenSCAD.
The logo and spherical shape was inspired by old photos of the 1960s of a gas station in my village.
The script “Caltex.scad” can be opened in OpenSCAD. OpenSCAD is free software: https://openscad.org/
It depends on the selected font how close the logo is to the original. I selected a semi-bold font that was installed on my computer.
It is meant to be printed with white filament and then the logo can be painted with red and black. The parts that can be painted stick out a little.
The file “Caltex.stl” was rendered with “$fn=360;” and because it took too long with the 2021 version of OpenSCAD, I used a development version of 2023 for that.
I made the script in OpenSCAD, but I do not own the design. The name and logo and shape belong to the Chevron Corporation.
Because it is a (vintage) logo display of a brand, it is only for personal use.
