Description
A parameterize-able sliding tracker that can serve many purposes.
This is how to figure out what files you need depending on the type of tracker you want to make:
5 ITEMS:
Top (5 items).stl (Customizable)
Slider.stl (x 5)
WITH MMU:
Bottom.stl
YES OR NO:
Yes.stl (x5)
No.stl
BLANK:
No additional files needed.
WITHOUT MMU:
Bottom.stl
7 ITEMS:
Top (7 items).stl (Customizable)
Slider.stl (x 7)
WITH MMU:
Bottom.stl
YES OR NO:
Yes.stl (x 7)
No.stl
BLANK:
No additional files needed.
WITHOUT MMU:
Bottom.stl
How to put it together:
1. Download the appropriate files for the kind of pet tracker you want to make.
2. Group and align items into the bottom piece, top piece, and sliders.
3. If not using an MMU, insert a color change at the layer soonest after 1.5mm.
4. If including 'Yes or No', yes.stl object aligns with the slider.stl object and no.stl object aligns with Bottom Frame.stl
5. Scale all items to 150%, except for the embedded magnet bottom (it's already been scaled to fit the 6x3mm magnets)
I've included some 3mf files of general trackers that are already pre-grouped and intended for printing with an MMU/AMS and with Yes/No Sliders. They can also be helpful to understand how the grouping/aligning works.
I've included some common words/emojis/etc, but if you want to make your own words (such as inserting your pet's name) and aren't sure how, do this:
Tinkercad also has a “Custom Font Text” object that works well.
In terms of printing settings, the only thing of note is that turning on ironing can make the whole thing look a little nicer.
I added a bottom that has space for embedded magnets (if you're into that sort of thing). This part is ALREADY scaled to 150% and doesn't need to be scaled again. Magnet sizes are 6x3mm and there's room for 12 of them. Just be sure to put a pause in so that you can actually insert the magnets…
The top sizes have been updated so that you don't need glue and they just snap into place. Just apply some force. If you find the top isn't staying on, feel free to use a bit of glue, but I haven't had any issues so far.
