Double Sided Double Happiness Rotating Heart Pendant

This heart pendant displays the Chinese characters for “double happiness” in different contrasting colors on both sides. The clever half bezel designed by maker Layerdash in their Heartin Pendant design adds interest and allows you to turn the heart around without taking off the pendant.  I'll be giving these as gifts for the Lunar New Year.

Because of the thin lines which form the characters, you will need a well-tuned printer capable of fine detail and a print bed with good adhesion. I recommend using the smallest possible layer height for the heart. I used silk PLA printed at 20% infill and 0.8 mm layer height for the heart. The bezel was printed with 100% infill for strength at 0.12 mm layer height.

The bezel requires printing with support for its prongs. Print the heart with color changes at 0.5 mm and 6 mm to make the characters stand out. The print in the pictures used red silk PLA for the bottom layers, black silk PLA for the heart body, and gold metallic PLA for the top character layers. After printing, to assemble the pendant, bend the bezel apart just enough to insert its prongs into the holes in the heart.
