Present - Your unfolding Heart

Please welcome the newest member of the family: a heart-shaped box.
Presented on a hand, to use as present/gift.

Of course I could have called it heart-shaped box with origami folding lids, but I liked the current description better. The word present, we pronounce it in 2 ways. With this heart on a hand it is both in one.…

All parts are printed, no hardware needed!

For all 3D printing enthusiasts and Valentine's Day approaching: print it! (Boys, don't forget! It's 14 Februari before you know it..). Of course you can also fill it with a ring / necklace / message or other gift (hint). In any case, the packaging is already a gift!

Of course not only Valentine's Days, but also Mother's Day, Birth Days, to celebrate or give because you love someone.
Other ideas: as a Wedding Ring Box, Wedding Wishes Box or Jewelry Box.

The box and the stand (hand) can be used separately.

Love is…

• Love is not to be purchased, so that’s why this model is free..
• Love is giving your printed version a perfect finish! (put all your love in it)
• Love is sharing and liking this model to spread it all over the globe…

I put a lot of love into this design, it's up to you to print and finish it to win the heart of your loved one(s).

p.s. on the photos, the hand with stand and heart-box are printed with Fuzzy Skin on the outside walls. Point distance 0.4 and thickness 0.1 (Prusa Slicer)
The silver hand is printed in white and then spray-painted with chrome, and covered with sparkling lacquer.
I got a little carried away with the use of infills, even on the bottom as you can see in the photos, but the wife loved it (and that's all that counts, isn't it?)

Printing and Assembly

Instead of describing everything here, I have added detailed instructions on how to print and assemble by a seperate manual attached as PDF. (it is under the section [Other files])
Also in there: explaining the infill paterns used on the lids and the box. (you don't have to use them)

* this model also includes the latest update to strengthen the pegs and bonding of them to the lids.

On request, just as for the Solid Box I made, I have added a version of lid 1 with a hole for a small bolt trough the axle (so that it is not visible) for those who's axles (tabs) still break or just to be sure. After printing, a bolt M3x12 must be screwed into the axle as reinforcement. The bolt is tightened only in the part of the lid itself, clamping the axle against the lid. The bolt is not visible after mounting. The only thing you need to add to assemble the box are 2 bolts M3x12. The shape of the head is not important, as long as it is not higher than 3mm and thicker than Ø6. Be aware that this is only possible when printing at 100%!

Special thanks to my father, who challenged me (after seeing the previous model) with the question: “Can you make folding lids that are not rectangular?”
So I did. Coincidence then brought the design and Valentine's Day theme together. (I had adjusted the design to a shape that would be mirrorable and only later did I connect the dots).
