Description
The green power button on my parents HiFi disappeared into the unit one day. Opening up the NAD 701 Receiver showed that the custom piece of plastic which held the button in place and which enabled it to push the on-off microswitch had broken.
Not wanting to see a piece of serviceable HiFi end up on the scrap heap, I designed a replacement. The replacement is in two parts to make it easier to print. The larger part of the “pin” goes into the power button and then through the hole in the hinge plate. I would suggest you glue the pin to the hinge to stop it squeaking. You might need to reduce the length of the pin in case it pushes onto the switch too much (use side cutters).
I printed it in PLA with a 0.1mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle on my MK3S+. I might be better off in PETG to give more flex but it hasn't broken yet. Also, the 0.1mm layer height is probably overkill. When you bring the pin, I suggest you use a brim to stop it falling over.
