Description

You can find the enhanced version 2 of this project here : https://www.printables.com/model/1199963-solar-powered-rain-gauge-pluviometer-v2

------------------------------------------------------------------------

You need :

  • A rod of 3mm diameter and 30mm length (steel, aluminium...)
  • A reed switch 1.8x7mm
  • A round neodymium magnet 4x2mm
  • 2 bolts M3x6mm
  • 4 bolts or screws to fix the base on your support.
  • Wires, connector as you like to connect to the reed switch.
  • A drop of glue to fix the magnet.

You can put your own adapted sensor into the slot on the bucket's side.
The funnel is screwed to the base through the printed threaded.
The small tower behind the sensor is for securing the output wire with a cable tie.

I've added a foot that can be used with countersunk round neodymium magnet to put the pluviometer onto a magnetic surface.

The funnel is printed upside-down. Be carreful to make a rotation of 180° in your slicer, and not a mirror, otherwise the threaded will not work.

Bending_tool.stl is a little tool to bend reed switch pins if you need.

I've measured that 375mL of water generate 250 impulses, so 1.5mL an impulse. The funnel area is 0.01m2, therefore one impulse is 0.15mm of rain.
