Description
I was looking for a low profile CNC clamps, which clamps material from the side of the material, not from the top. I wanted to have access to all the top surface while milling, not covered by any clamps.
My clamps has 15deg angle, so they also press material into the table, while tightening. It's low profile(22mm), tighten by M5 screw. They are pretty rigid, because of the design, side struts of the top part are adding a lot of rigidity to this parts. For milling wood these clamps are absolutely enough, in my opinion.
There are 2 types of bottom part, with 2 holes, no adjustment, and with slot, so you can adjust the position. I prefer shorter part, with only 2 holes, it gives you much more pressing force when tighten the clamps, because part with the slot can move on the table along the slot, while you tighten the clamp.
There are also 2 types of top part, flat and knurled. Second one should have better pressing force for the clamped material.
I printed it with PETG, it's quite stiff and durable. Didn't use any supports and no cooling (0% fan). Overhangs on the top part was quite awful, but it didn't change the functionality of the part at all. I just cut off the overhang strings and the part works nice, ald because of no cooling, it is very strong.
