Medieval-style lucet/knitting fork/cordmaking tool

Most lucets available now have a lyre-shaped design, sometimes with a handle. I have designed a couple of those myself, for 3d printing. They are very pretty, but no one has found any evidence of that design during the Medieval period. On the contrary, medieval lucets seem to have looked like these finds from France and Sweden: 

Basically, Daleks with bat ears… So, I decided to create a 3d print in that style to try it out, because why not? :) N.b. – mine is not necessarily to the scale of the originals – I did not actually get the measurements of the artifacts. Also, the simple lines on the sides are a bit rough and I will probably fix that eventually. Feel free to remix to add better art! :)

Prints simply, without supports. I had some stringing in between the “teeth" when I printed the blue/green one, but a tiny bit of sandpaper solved that. The bone-colored one (in Prusament Vanilla White, “antiqued” with walnut ink) didn't have any stringing at all! It works perfectly and the tines being straight makes it actually slightly easier to use than the modern design, but also easier for the yarn to slide off if you're not careful! :) 

NOTE: the tips of the tines can be a bit fragile, so be careful! I didn't have any trouble when using yarn with it, but when I tried to use a crochet hook to pull the yarn over the top of a tine, it broke the tip of the tine off because the hook was putting extra pressure on it. The lucet was still quite usable, though, even without the thinnest part of one of the tines! Still, be gentle with the lucet to keep it as safe as you can! :)

Anyway, if you print in bone-color material (like the Vanilla White), it might even look slightly authentic! Have fun!
