Description

Made this a few years ago to extract hot air from inside the Valve Index headset while playing. It helps keep my face from sweating while playing some of the more active VR games by pulling fresh air up from the gap around your nose and up through the top of the mask. It uses two 30x30 fans - I used these:

It was printed with PLA, 0.2mm layers, no supports were required, and then the components were snapped together and superglued together. No glue is necessary to attach this to the Valve's face mask - a bump latches on to the Index face mask as is.

The fans are powered by the Index's USB port under the face plate, and currently I just let them run all the time - the fans are designed for continuous use, and they haven't shown any signs of wear so far, though adding a switch could be good. I just slit open a USB cable and soldered the appropriate wires to connect to the fans (look up a guide to which wires are which online - don't risk shorting out the port).
