Description
2019-03-09 Added improved STL's for Belt connector and connector insert.
It is primarily a V-Slot conversion and conversion to magnetic ball joints, that also uses belt drive (I converted to the Boots Belt kit before starting this conversion.
At this stage it is trying to maintain the default effector so as to reduce the amount of parts replaced, complexity, and the cost of the conversion.
Special thanks to clefranc for working with me on design of carriage plate and effector clips.
Special thanks to Lykle who collaborated with me and did the modelling of several alternative effectors.
Bill of Materials
9 or 12 x V-Wheel kits (plate supports either option)
-http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Poly-Carbonate-Solid-V-wheel-Kit-for-V-Slot/32315197095.html (this is all 12 in single order)
3 x 1 meter length of 20x20 V-Slot linear rail
12 x Ball/Magnet/Rod end kit
-Ordered from Haydn Huntley for $3USD per set + shipping [email protected]
3 or 6 x Eccentric spacers (plate supports either option)
6 Lengths of 10mm carbon tube (8mm inner diameter)
-I sourced this through a local Australian supplier as 3x1m lengths
If you don't have the boots belt kit

Printed Parts
There are several choices/options to be made here.
*Effector Options*
This design developed in collaboration with Lykle increases build height by raising the hot ends http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:916251
See the awesome low profile custom effector designed in collaboration with Lykle at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:916142
Or alternatively if you want to keep using the boots effector use http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:916206 also designed by Lykle
*Belts*
I printed these in ABS, Ithink with 20% infill and 2 outer perimeter shells, supports are needed for the endstop flag and inner section of the Belt Connector, the insert I printed at 100% infill:
If you don't have boot's belt kit, print the following at 40% infill with PLA or ABS, a 0.4 mm nozzle is recommended with 0.2 mm layer height (ABS recommended):
