Repair of Play-Doh Hamburger Cooking Set (35+ years old)

During a cleanup campain we found this Play-Doh plasticine Hamburger cooking set. The extruder was broken. I remember my kids playing a lot with it, I had already a minor repair 30 years ago on this kit. Now we found it again, and this is worthwhile being repaire for my grand kids.

Took some measures, built the extruder up from scratch, needed a few cycles, getting more funtional and more sections around it. After approval and functional test I printed it with red ABS. The minor warping did not influence the function. Had to cut out some interferences on the original machine, but ieventually I got everything together. It works!

Printed on Voron 0.1 in PLA (prototypes) and ABS (final version). Print was a bit cahllengimng as I needed to use support. But worked out fine!

Note: The quality of Mattel toys is excellent, not comparable with quality you buy today. Therefore, it is worthwhile repairing old stuff, especially, when you got time to spend.
