"The Beast" Paint Brush Stand

My miniature painting brushes were taking up more desk space than I would have liked; my circular brush stand (pictured for reference) was an inefficient use of space, was half empty, and suffered from one of my pet peeves: brushes that end up in mismatched top and bottom holes because there are no guides to keep them where they belong.

Enter "The Beast", the result of good intentions gone wild. This monster weighs in at over 200g, so it's not going to tip over easily despite the smaller footprint. It has 7 large, 9 medium and 19 small holes that should fit just about any size of brush. The main feature is of course the extended “tunnels” that encourage brushes to stay in their lane; it's still not 100% foolproof (nothing short of a one-piece design could manage that) but it's good enough for me.

The tolerance for the tabs is rather tight at 0.2mm, to make sure that the whole thing doesn't fall apart; you may need to file the tabs down a bit (I had to). Both halves print “face down” so there is no need for supports. I printed with extra bottom layers as far as the rim to ensure a clean finish, and this contributes to the weight; you could reduce the amount of material needed (and the final weight) by allowing infill to take up that space.
