Description

This file handle is designed to hold a 6 inch half round file. The handle is printed in two parts for maximum strength and 6 square pins to help with alignment and strength.

It is recommended to print this handle with the ‘Fuzzy’ skin option for better grip.

Lightly sand and clean the mating surfaces before gluing. I used super glue to hold the handle halves together and two part epoxy to hold the file in the handle.

This handle is designed to hold a half-round file, which has a slight taper to the tang.

Instructions:

  1. Lightly sand and clean the two handle halves and the tang of the file.
  2. Ensure the file tang will fully seat into the handle.
  3. Insert the 6 pins into one of the handle halves.
  4. Get your glues ready. In my case I used super glue and two part epoxy.
  5. Apply the glue to the handle.
  6. Use a vise or clamp to press the two halves together tightly.
  7. Insert the file tang into the handle. Lightly tap with a hammer to ensure the tang is fully seated into  the handle.
  8. Keep clamped until glue and epoxy has dried.
