Description
Here’s my first attempt at modeling a 3d printable plane.
Because I'm pretty new to 3d modeling, I hope I can get some feedback on this free model!
wingspan 980mm
weight without electronics: estimated one flying spool - currently printing will update as I go
My Father has always dreamt of owning a float plane so I figured I would give it my best shot in fusion at making one for his birthday and double down for the contest and hopefully with a little help from the community we can make this model fly!
The hope is for it to be 99% 3D Printed, with the addition of a few carbon/wood dowels if needed (again have no experience making planes before), and ofc the motors/fc/servos….
Parts are all Exported from Fusion as STL's ready for your favorite slicing program. I have yet to print, but have PLA light weight filament, and PETG for anything contacting the water…
Again I am brand new to the RC hobby, and have only a couple months of messing around with Fusion
As always,
Have a great day!
Updated Wing STL (now print left and right wing individually)
- makes spacing between flap and fuselage the same
Updated Fuselage_2_
HAPPY PRINTING!
PRINT INFO
BE CAREFUL THESE ARE SET UP FOR 20+HR prints.
-have AT LEAST the required filament on your spool, filament break detector installed, and keep those fingers crossed you don’t have a power outage.
CAREFUL PRINTING:
part : fuselage_2_v2 - I am working on strengthening after adding windows & removing material for print model it doesn't print as strong anymore.

ELECTRONICS NECESSARY:
again this is my first build so go easy on me…
you will need the following:
I plan on ordering the following, please let me know if I should change anything…
Flight controller:
FRSKY F4 FLIGHT CONTROLLER WITH BUILT IN XSR RECEIVER (I fly with ELRS normally but this FRsky receiver is cheap and compatible with my radio)
but could be swapped with a similar setup. (please refer to youtube or ChatGPT for advice) its been helpful for me.
If you've read this far, please rate the model!
Check out these links as i found them helpful in designing the plane:
I've definitely spent a couple days working on this project, if you print it, or it helps you out at all on your own 3d printed plane journey please hit the LIKE button!
Those Prusa Points are always awesome, but sipping on coffee while re-modeling in Fusion makes my day ;)
