Description
20230709 EDIT: I have been using the same design without issue for 3000 more kilometres now. no structure change for new design, but I have add my YouTube channel name on the inner side of this version.
20230327 EDIT: After 1000km of trial, the previous failed at the finger position. (Photo attached). new version 2 is now available with a reinforced third finger, a 10mm-longer screw will also be needed. I think this version should survive for a longer period of time.
Original:
Magicshine designed a bike with an anti-glare feature but did not provide a solution for cyclists to mount it under the bike computer. (as seen on their official website:
https://magicshine.com/collections/road-urban-bike-lights/products/rn3000-brightest-bike-light )
Unfortunately, I need a bike front light with a long battery life and this Magicshine RN3000 may be the only option available in the market.
So I designed this mount for mounting this light under my bike computer with the correct orientation for the anti-glare feature, as well as being able to read the status indicator light easily. I also believe the structure of my mount is stronger than its original Garmin-style mount, which only uses a pair of small fins to hang a heavy light.
I bought my Magicshine RN3000 in 2023, other version may not fit. Please feedback if you found it useful or not.
The light pattern when using this mount:
Wide (lowest mode - 62hr):
focus (lowest mode - 62hr):
Both (lowest mode - 31.5hr):

PS. next to this mount is my design of the GoPro bike mount using the original GoPro quick release.
20230906: After thousands of kilometres, we finally able to know the point of failure of this design. It is not on any 3D printed components. But the original GoPro mount. Please see picture below.
