Description

This is a replacement/enhanced battery holder for the Spring Window Fashions battery holder for their powered window shades.  The problem with the factory one is that it is designed to deliver 12 volts.  Which is normally fine if you use disposable batteries.  BUT, rechargeable batteries run at 1.2 volts instead of 1.5, so by replacing them, you are only providing 9.6 volts, which is hard on the batteries as well as the motors.  So, I added 2 more batteries to this holder so that you can print a 10 battery holder to proved the recommended 12 volts.  Also as a benefit, the batteries should last a lot longer with the extra capacity.

This holder fits perfectly in the factory holder and uses the same hardware from the factory units.  All you have to do is remove the circuit board and springs and slot them into the new model.  The circuit board is fragile, so please take care when removing it from your factory units.  I put much ‘looser’ holders in this model so that there is much less risk of damaging the board if you re-print new ones or have to remove it for any reason.  If you want a tighter fit, I can design those tabs and upload them, the catch will be a much higher risk of cracking your board on insertion and removal.

The print is quite long, so I have uploaded the complete model, as well as a broken in half one so you can print it in 2 pieces each then sand and superglue them together.  Any plate with a printable area over 223x223mm should be able to print each piece whole at a diagonal.
