Description

I was tired of Ender 5 Plus's Bl touch and CR Touch not playing well with SKR boards (~30 hours wasted in trouble shooting, including making custom circuit), got tired of it and made this.

Firmware Modification Required:
For SKR Boards I took one of the firmware here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ender5plus/comments/wrxjoc/e5_community_firmware_for_the_btt_mini_e3v3_e3v2/

If you have the stock firmware/or wherever else you got yours from, just try to find the original source for it and start commenting out.

You should download the source for your board first, try to compile it stock, and then once it does compile successfully, then start commenting out #defines in configure.h that are related to probe/automatic leveling.

Physical Modification:

You need 3 prone limit switch + cable. I took this off of a standard Ender 3 Z axis, but you can probably find this may locations online or spare parts. Using the two original screws off the limit switch holder to mount it into this custom 3D printed piece, and then using 2 bolts and T nuts (whatever you have lying around, the ones of Ender 3 Z axis was what I cannibalized, and mounted this to one side of my Y axis.

You'll need to adjust the height according to your nozzle. I first level the bed plate (not the bed, but the frame that holds the bed) first, then I level the bed to the nozzle. If you have experience in manual tramming dual z axis you should be fine.

Once I got it leveled, I homed it ~40 times (at decently high acceleration). I was able to verify that having limit switch only on one side did not cause z axis drift over time, and the manual leveling held up great! Now I no longer have to ABL at all.

Best of luck to ya.
