Description
Looking through the entries for the chopstick contest I noticed that there weren't many designs for a chopstick caddy / case. So I wanted to design something that I could not only rest my chopsticks on but could also use as a caddy / case to carry my favorite pair around anywhere I go. While researching for this model I quickly realized that there are several different types and sizes of chopsticks. With that in mind I designed this case to hold pretty much any pair of chopsticks except for extremely long pairs which are commonly used for cooking.
The rounded indention on either side allows also you to rest your chopsticks on top of the case. I've also added a few drain holes so you can easily rinse it out and let it air dry. My prints were made using PLA but I would highly recommend printing in PETG. Especially if you plan to clean it using a dishwasher.
Bill of materials:
Just 40 grams of filament. Ideal for finishing up a roll.
Printing:
No supports needed. The .stl files have also been setup for optimal printing. So you should just be able to slice and go. Fun thing to note. For this model I played around with seam placement a bit. The gold version was printed with a “random” seam which adds a kind of linen texture.
Layer height: .10 mm
Infill: 10%
Assembly:
Insert chopsticks into the bottom portion and slide the top on. Tada!
Notes:
If you find that this print is too large for your chopsticks just leave me a comment and I can make a version that is a little smaller. Also, if you decide to print this model please share you makes with me. I would love to see your creations.
