EDM Cartridge | Electrical Discharge Machining

This print-in-place module uses a compliant mechanism to hold in a wago 221. This wago is used to connect a 1/16" brass rod to a EDM power supply. 6x2 mm Neodymium magnets keep the module attached to an EDM machine. 

EDM Is a low-force process, meaning that little-to-no force is needed to hold the electrode in place. Increasing the pre-load can make machining unstable, because the electrode can not bend/translate out of the way during a crash/short.

Assembly 

Glue magnets in-place with cyanoacrylate super glue.  Press the wago 221 inside the mechanism to capture it. To remove the wago, twist it free gently.
