Description

Every time I shave I'm always hunting for a spot to place my safety razor and not rest it on the blade's edge. Like many people I usually end up laying it on a towel or having it propped up precariously on the edge of something. So like any sane maker, I set out to build a better solution. I knew I wanted to be able to store the razor, a package of blades, and something to safely store used blades in. I also had some spare 12x2 mm magnets and thought I could use them to help hold a package of blades and the blade disposal box in case I accidently bumped the stand.

The stand itself is about 15mm in diameter and 50mm tall. While it was made for my specific razor it should accommodate most standard safety razors. On the bottom of the you'll find two 12x2mm pockets for you to glue in magnets into.

Bill of materials:

  • About 32 grams of filament. Ideal for finishing up a roll.
  • 12x2 mm magnets. I used these magnets but I would suggest just finding whatever is on sale or remixing the model to use whatever magnets you have on hand. It's also worth mentioning that magnets aren't necessary for this print but just help keep things in place.

Printing:

No supports needed. The .stl files have also been setup for optimal printing. So you should just be able to slice and go.

Layer height: .20 mm

Infill: 10%

Assembly:

Glue in your magnets. Place the lid on the the blade disposal box. Enjoy!

Notes:

Please don't reuse the blade disposal box. Once it's full just toss it out and print a new one.
