This is my model of the planet Tatooine from the Star Wars saga. It's a dessert planet, and the birth planet of Luke Skywalker. There is no official world map of the planet, so most of the geography is made up by me, referenced from some images of the planet more or less canon (mainly this one). The only features of this world are the "continents" of rocky terrain; and the lowland "oceans" of dunes. For the last one I made a terrain with dune like relief, though for the size of the planet real dunes would not be that visible. Like most of the sci-fi and astronomical models of this scale, the topography is exaggerated to make it more visible.

Something about the thumbnail image: I generate it using Blender, in which I painted the model, and illuminate the scene with two sun-like light sources (Tatooine has two suns), one more reddish and dimmer. You can see it on the red glare at the right rim of the illuminated part.

The file's names explained: name_1_x_10_y.stl is 1 : x* 10y. So _1_6_10_7 is 1:60000000 or one in 60 million.

I spend part of my time making these models, letting them available and free for everyone. If you want to support my work you can buy me a coffee in Ko-fi:
