Weather Satellite Pipe Antenna

The aim of this project is to create a portable antenna system to receive NOAA weather satellite imagery.

The original antenna design stems from 9A4QV (Adam).

It is recommended to check the SWR with a VNA to confirm that the antenna is up to the task.

Bill of Materials (BOM): 

• 2x Aluminium rods with a length of 53,4 cm each (so either a minimum of 110 cm rod, or two 55 cm rods that need to be trimmed down)
• 1x M5x60 mm hexagon bolt screw 
• 1x M5 wing nut
• 1x BNC banana connector
• 2x HT DN 40 pipes (or more if you want a longer mast)
• Coax cable to connect to the RTL-SDR (size according to needs)

The tripod mount should fit most universal tripods with a quick release plate size of 40x40 mm.
