Description
I started designing a rack style mount for the framework mainboard a year ago or so. The fit of the slim case + rack design has been printed and worked but I never got around to finishing the design. I believe I've added cavities for magnets in order to help secure the server once in the rack but I never actually printed it.
The slim case is based on the official framework mainboard case and quite simply cuts off some of the ports and trims up the design. Since it was going to be a server I didn't really have much need for the expansion slots.
The case/frame was designed using aluminum extrusion pieces and the corners are all interchangeable.
The spacers work well maybe once but if you're using PLA they'll be prone to cracking after repeated use.
Note: I'm pretty sure I abused auto-supports for these designs. The frame corners + docks both need supports I think.
