Glasses / Spectacles stand

This make is a glasses stand that has been designed as either freestanding or for attachment to a base/object of your choice. The stand should accommodate any style of glasses that have folding ear arms. It has two reducing frame support bars at the front (covered in soft green baize cloth) so that only the top of the frame (or the very top of a no-frame lens) ever touches the stand, the lenses are thus protected from scratching. On the reverse there are x2 passive retainers to hold the arms of the glasses on the rear supports, which aids stability and security.

Version 1 is a free-standing glasses stand on a chevron base. It prints without supports (but if you are printing in PLA, it does benefit from a brim – included in the PLA g-code)

Version 2 allows you to mount the glasses stand on a base (or object) of your choice. It is secured to the custom base with 3 x M3 (12mm) bolts at a centre spacing of 15mm (inserted from below and through the base). In my example the glasses mount has been placed onto a grabber that allows it to sit on top of my bedside lamp (where my glasses used to ‘balance’).

Green self-adhesive baize cloth can be bought in small quantities for a few pounds from various places. G-code provided for PETG and PLA for both V1 and V2. V2 requires you to design / adapt your own base - attach with 3 x M3 (12mm) - see above.
