BOG DeathGrip Tripod Ball Head Conversion Kit

A conversion kit for the BOG DeathGrip Tripod that allows you to use a ball head instead of the included swivel head. With a ball head, you can level the tripod without having to adjust the length of the feet, this allows for much faster adjustment. Furthermore you also get the advantage of using Arca Swiss Rail. 

This kit comes with an adapter for the Tripod itself as well as an Arca rail adapter for the clamp, so you can continue to use the clamp.

I have included the FreeCad files, if you wish to make any adjustments to the design. All parameters can be found in the spreadsheet within.

Required parts:

• 3/8” x 2,5” bolt for screwing into the ball head
• Ball head with 3/8” screw hole.

Steps:

• Disassemble tripod by unscrewing the bolt under the swivel head.
• Remove entire swivel head.
• Remove 4 screws underneath the clamp, put aside.
• Insert tripod adapter into tripod hole and screw 3/8” screw in from the bottom into the ball head.
• Screw in Arca rail adapter into clamp, using the 4 screws from the clamp.

Print instructions:

• Print the Arca rail adapter standing up to avoid layer separation under stress.
• Use supports for Arca rail adapter.
• No supports required for the Tripod adapter.
• Use 80-100% infill for best results.
• Tested with both 0.15mm and 0.3mm with fine results.
