Ikea Lack table leg support for the Original Prusa i3 MK3 ENCLOSURE -Ikea Lack table / Ikea Lack Tisch Stütze für Prusa Gehäuse

During printing my Enclosure often starts wobbling especially while printing full surfaces. So I designed this support piece to stiffen the tables legs. 

Instead of most existing designes I wanted to optinize the approach for 3D printing. This model is easy to print, you can fit many of them on one printbed, more than you need for one table and they make use of the mechanic properties of 3D printed parts. This is the main advantage over “L-shaped” supports.

I made two versions, one with holes for 5mm flat head screws and one version for 3.5mm ones. 

For one table you will need 8 support pieces, there are ready files for that as well. 

I used support material for the screwholes and no brim. 

For the suppport pieces you need 75mm of free surface on the tabel leg and the underside of the plate. In my case the was no more room to work with because of the Expandable Steel Sheet Holder designed by Whity, wich is one of the best additions to the Lack enclosure there is in my opinion.

Während ich die ersten Modelle in meinem neuen IKEA Lack Gehäuse gedruckt habe ist mir sofort aufgefallen, wie wackelig die Tischbeine sind. Das gesamte Gehäuse mitsamt dem Drucker schwankte hin und her. Um das zu verhindern habe ich diese Stützen konstruiert.

Das Problem ist bereits bekannt und es gibt eine Vielzahl von Stützen für die Tischbeine. Die meisten Versionen sind aber L-förmig. Das hat den Nachteil, dass in der Kante eine Sollbruchstelle entsteht, an der sich nach längerer Belastung ein Riss bilden wird. Auperdem sind diese Konstruktionen, wenn sie nicht mit Rippen oder ähnlichen Stützen ausgestattet sind, wenig effektiv das schwanken zu verhindern. Diese Problematiken hat das gerade Design nicht. Es versteift effektiv die Tischbeine und hat keine Sollbruchstelle. Trotzdem ist es Dank der Auflageflächen leicht zu positionieren. Zudem ist es so kompakter und verbraucht so weniger Filament und Platz auf dem Druckbett.

Ich habe zwei Versionen erstellt, eine für 5mm und eine für 3,5mm Holzschrauben.

Jedes Tischbein braucht 2 Stützen. 

Ich habe nur die Schraublöcher mit Stützmaterial versehen, es braucht auch keine Rand.

Zur Montage braucht man 75mm freie Fläche auf der Unterseite der Tischplatte und ebensoviel das Tischbein herunter.
