Description
I was looking to replace my shifter knob in my Datsun 620, but really just didn't want to spend the money on another that might just suck or fall apart like my current one was.
So I did what someone with a 3D printer is supposed to do. I designed and printed my own!
I did make a couple different caps for the shift pattern for my 5 speed truck, but obviously, you could make your own, and I uploaded a .step of the blank one to make that easier.
You will need some of the 3M automotive tape that's used on most emblems and whatnot.
I used 30% infill and PETG, which has proven heat resistant enough here in Ohio for the rest of my printed car parts and emblems. If you're in California or Arizona, etc, you may want to use something more high temp. It would suck to grab onto melting plastic to shift…
The real hero of this print is the fuzzy skin setting. I would just play with those values until you see what looks good in the slicer, then print it out.
