Description

Though the LIDAR flow calibration is a valuable benefit of the X1/X1c, there is a high price to pay for it: The internal lamp is but a weak glim that - combined with the tinted glass door - hardly allows to visually inspect print progress. 
For a couple of reasons I didn't like the idea of installing a light source inside the printer's enclosure, so I decided to just put it on the cover glass plate (so that the LIDAR operates in the printhead's shadow). My manually switchable light source simply consists of two cheap aquarium LED light tubes. First tests point to that it indeed does not affect proper LIDAR operation (but that's not a problem anyway since one can simply keep the light switched off until the LIDAR has finished flow calibration).

This lamp holder is intended to be used with two 38 cm (15") light tubes with a diameter of 18 mm (like this or this one - don't worry about exact dimensions; the holder is scalable for an arbitrary diameter as well as length). Simply print the two parts, snap them on the light tubes and lay the lamp onto the printer's top glass plate. 
If you have an AMS on top of the printer, place the lamp in front of it (and turn the tubes a little to illuminate the printer's inside at an angle). If not, place the lamp in the frontmost third of the cover glass (ideally vertically straight above the LIDAR calibration area).

The attached 3MF file is intended to be used with BambuStudio. If you don't have a Bambu printer yet, use the STL instead (print two pieces).
I recommend using PETG or some other not-too-heat-sensitive material. Use a white material to avoid back-reflected light being absorbed.
