Description

If you've ever wanted to make use of those Makita LXT 18V batteries, you are going to want a solid and clean way to get to the battery terminals. This 3D print provides a plastic plate that slips onto the battery, snapping on just like a Makita power tool. The electrical terminals connections are reproduced using a genuine Makita spare part (643852-2), glued into place. You will need to source those separately, but relatively inexpensive for a Makita part.

My battery mount for the Makita LXT 18V battery is designed to directly and firmly fit the Makita 643852-2 Battery Terminal spare part, though I use epoxy resin glue to secure it permanently in-place.

I've now created several projects based on this design, altering the basic width and length to accommodate a custom 3D printed box cover to fit the project.

I hope you can find this print useful, too.

(Lookout for some of my 3D prints for my Makita battery projects and share your thoughts.)

Also see my alternative Makita LXT compatible battery mount, instead with intended mounting from underneath:

Updates:

Version F

  • Changed the 2 deeper screw mounting holes to make all the mounting holes require the same mounting screw lengths.

Version G

  • Cleaned up the design. Only minor tweaks to a popular and successful design.

Print instructions

My print is made in PETG 1.75mm Aurarum Silver filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 25% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer.

The print can be printed without supports, but comes out slightly better if included.
