Description
Update: 18/8/23:
As a result of feedback on another site - have uploaded a new Bambu Lab specific version - Â with 8 plates included with different options for printing individual or both dogs.
Â
23/8/23Â
Tested plate 7 file uploaded - see Timelapse and final photos - this version has quite a lot of support - so could potentially be reduced slightly.
Could create a PrusaSlicer version of this if requested.
Â
----
Multi Colour models of my sons 8 month Whippet Puppy - Scully.
Designed using Fusion 360
Printed examples from Bambu Lab X1 Carbon AMS
Two versions included - Younger (Whippet2) and Older Longer (Whippet3) laying down.
Further sitting and standing versions being worked on.
Print time around 6 hrs on X1C for two colour single puppy (when split into 3 sections to reduce height and therefore colour changes)
Print time 7.5hrs on X1C for both models at the same time (split into 3 sections, with 155 colour changes).
Support required for head - recommend using paint on support. Â Â
Also suitable for MMU2S, Palette & IDEX printers
Ears can be printed separately quite quickly - depending on calibration of printer it may be necessary to scale the ears down slightly to allow them to slide in.
Could also be printed single colour and painted - print time single colour approx 1 hour on X1C
Example prints at 0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle, standard speed.
Tested 3mf files provided for Bambu Studio.
zip files in other files section contain the 28/29 individual STL files - which need to be imported in 6 separate blocks to achieve the 3 section split.
Pins need to be cloned 3 times
I have also included some untested slicer project files from PrusaSlicer MMU2s - some work probably required to rotate ears to correct angle for printing and add brims to them.
Video to follow with Fusion 360 design workflow and Timelapse's of print.
For scale - the test prints are photographed standing on a 12.9" iPad.
New Multi Plate BL version - plate options are as follows:
Have included 8 different print options - with varying print times.Â
Plate 1 - Whippet2 - wholeÂ
Plate 2 - Whipper2 - with head separate - for faster print time.Â
Plate3 - Whippet2 - with head separate and body split - for even faster print timeÂ
Plate 4 - Whippet 3 - wholeÂ
Plate5 - Whippet 3 - with head separate - for faster print timeÂ
Plate6 - Whippet 3 - with head separate and body split - for even faster print timeÂ
Plate7 - Whippet2 and 3 - with heads separate and bodies split - the most efficient way of printing both dogs - closest to original release. Â - see TimelapseÂ
Plate8. - Both dogs whole - the longest print time
