Description

This is a refillable Activated Charcoal Filter Box for the BambuLab X1. The filter medium should be replaced every 50-100h or as soon as you start smelling your ABS prints again.

It saves you money and reduces waste!

Best used with pelletized coconut carbon (4-6mm). Use high-quality (and expensive) activated carbon for the best effect and not ruin your printer (bad carbon can be acidic and rust everything in your printer!!!). Funny cigarette grow shops are usually a good place to get high-quality activated carbon. Amazon stuff is hit or miss. Another good source is the Nevermore Carbon Refill Packs: https://github.com/nevermore3d/Nevermore_Micro

Printing instructions

Uses the included 3mf file in BambuSlicer, which has the model properly positioned and the modifier geometry added and parametrized. Print at least in PETG, so it survives hot prints. If you want to slice it yourself, load the included modifier geometry and assign 30% triangular infill.

Use it for your ABS/ASA prints

The chamber cooling fan is usually turned off when printing ABS/ASA so the smell doesn't get filtered during printing. I manually turn it on to 60-70% strength, with pulls some of the air out of the chamber but still lets it get to ~45°C. Just add this to your filament start code under the advanced filament options:
