Description
My carriage back was a bit warped after a blob of death so I wanted to print a new one in ASA but avoid rewiring my whole printer. There were a few options available but I wanted one that preserved the overall shape in the areas that engage other parts of the printer. I did one version that used epoxy but later developed this design that uses screws to ‘patch’ the slot I needed to introduce. I now have a replacement that I can use after cutting the old carriage back off with side cutters.
Two M3 screws 5mm or 6mm. I used socket head but round head would be great as shown in the render.
I modified the Prusa supplied mesh file to create a slot and added the bridge with holes for M3 hardware. Printed without support on the flat side in higher temp material like ASA. This is based on the R7 version but replaced my C1 factory original without a problem.
