Description
A loom for creating bracelets or ribbon with simple pattern. By using the different heddles the shedding can be changed like in a Jacquard machine or dobby loom.
There are two heddles (heald frames) to alternate the shed by pushing down the warp yarn to allow picking the weft with the shuttle. It would be possible to use 4 thinner heddles if needed. But as the heddles are open you can just exchange them.
After a few pickings and battening the weft you pull the warp beam outwards to release more yarn and turn the other with the finished fabric to tension again.
Sanding the slits in the heddle will let the yarn slide smoothly
After printing the parts and assembling you need to fill the warp beam with the warp yarn. Therefor just use 6× double long threads and push into the lock - then just push the lock into the warp beam. Guide over the comb and wind up the warp beam. When the end reaches the other warp beam (cloth roll up) cut them to equal length, lay over the slit and push the lock in. Now tension and add the batten, the heddles and load the shuttle with weft yarn
and weave away.
