Update 2023-04-30:
On request I have modified the design (V2). Several sharp edges have been rounded (as good as Fusion 360 has let me directly). Also I have changed the extensions and the lid. They have 45 degree chambered edges and it should be possible to print this without supports. Be aware I have not printed these V2 files myself (yet). I believe the whole can can now be printed without supports. The provided gcode has still supports for the handle though.

When someone prints the new design please give feedback.

Update 2023-05-02:
I tested the Version 2. It printed fine with PETG. You can print without any supports. For the can the result will improve the handle a bit when you select Supports from the build plate.

We have a small garden. Now and then it is necessary to fertilise or re-seed the lawn. I found in the garden center a device that is great to do this. It is small and not like the big spreader with wheels that you need to store somewhere 95% of the time.

This spreader is also useful to bring out salt in the winter.

So I took the challenge and “reverse engineered” the tool. It would have been faster and likewise cheaper to buy one. However it was a nice exercise to design it in Fusion 360.

The inside of the can is rounded and tapered, to be as smooth as possible so that the material flows nicely and is easy to clean.

Printing is simple: For the can use 0.3 mm layer height 10-20% infill and supports (I love the organic supports in the new Prusaslicer). For the lid print it with 0.2 mm.

I sized it for my MK3S+. When you want to print it on the mini you likely can scale the stl. (I have not tried it myself).

When you like it (or not) and/or print it, please share your result.
