Description
I designed this latch to go on the inside of the Bambu Lab glass door. When in the closed position the door works as normal but when in the open position, it keeps the door from closing. The reason for this is i was having trouble remembering to leave the door open when printing PLA with the textured build plate. This helps me remember.
With the cool plate you don't need to worry about the inside of your x1c getting too hot while printing PLA. But if your using the textured plate or a Whambam plate you do.
In these situations, it is recommended to either leave the top glass off or leave the door ajar. Since I use an AMS, removing the top glass is not really ideal. Plus, who wants to do that.
The problem with leaving the door ajar is remembering to do it. That is why i made this latch. When using the textured plate you can slide the latch over to prevent the door from closing.
Uses the existing hardware on the machine. For whatever reason, my screws needed a 5/64" Allen key. neither of the keys that came with the machine fit the door handle.
Print with the .16 optimal setting, but turn on supports and and set the overhang angle to 5. Or just download and use the Bambu Studio project file I have included.
This is my second design for a door latch and it is better than my original in every way.
