Description
This is mounting bracket for a NEMA17 motor to attach to the Crayford focuser on the Celestron Omni XLT 150/750. My understanding is that there is little standardization on Crayford focusers, so this would likely have to be modified to work with other focusers. One of the reasons I provided my fusion 360 and step file.
I do believe that it will also work with no modifications on a Skywatcher 150/750 which is essentially the same scope with the same focuser as the OMNI 150. I think there are potentially some other scopes/focusers that it might work on unmodified as well.
This is a remake of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5597193, I had to reconstruct it in Fusion due to the need to make it longer and to do some minor mods to allow it to work with a printed shaft coupler. I also changed the mounting holes that attaches to the focuser to slots to allow for some adjustments to line up the shafts.
I modified https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:81342 to create a 4mm to 5mm shaft coupler that is 30mm long. Had to make one update to the code outside of the parameters, so I included the modified scad file as well.
The autofocuser is driven from the OpenAstroTech firmware running on a MKS control board. And in my case, I use the autofocus algorithm in EKOS/Kstars.
Overall it is being used on my build of the OpenAstroTech OpenAstroMount (OAM).
