Description

Files:

DogTagBlank.stl: This is a blank slate for you to do with what you wish.

DogTag3Lines.3mf: 3 lines of text.

DogTag5Lines.3mf: 5 lines of text.

DogTag3LinesTHICK.3mf: 3 lines, thicker variant.

DogTag5LinesTHICK: 5 lines, thicker variant.

How to print:

If you want pre-set text, please select one of the .3mf files with your preferred amount of lines. These files will open in PrusaSlicer 2.6 (Currently in beta, download here), with the text already set with the correct font!

Please note, that when you change what is on the text, it will require some movement. This is because PrusaSlicer currently doesn't have a way to align the text on objects.

The text should be visible anywhere from 0.28mm layer height up, but I recommend a higher resolution.

Here is the correct layout according to military standards.

  • Line 1: Last Name
  • Line 2: First and Middle Initials, Blood Type
  • Line 3: Social Security Number (I recommend a phone number)
  • Line 4: USMC, Gas Mask Size (I recommend putting a personalized note on the last two lines)
  • Line 5: Religious Preference

So, for example,

  • Doe,
  • John S
  • 123-456-7890
  • Please contact me
  • if found!

Settings

  • Layer height: 0.12mm (or lower, for cleaner looking results. The one in the image was printed at 0.08 with a 0.4mm nozzle.)
  • Perimeters: 3
  • Infill: Doesn't matter
  • Brim: No
  • Ironing: On, All top surfaces (not necessary but it makes it look nice)

That's all!

If you like this model, please throw me a like. Thanks!
