Description
This phone stand takes advantage of the beauty of organic supports, which are now available in PrusaSlicer since version 2.6.
Of course you can print my design, but I reccomend to make your own! Everything can be done directly in PrusaSlicer, no CAD software is needed. If you want to get started, follow these few simple steps:
Remember that this will only work in PrusaSlicer 2.6, which you can download here:
https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/releases
1) After right-clicking on the empty plater you can Add Shape → Box. Set the correct dimensions of the object:
X dimension shoud be about 2/3 the height of your phone
Y dimension about the width of your phone
Z dimension 15 mm.
(Don't forget to first unlock the dimensions linkage by clicking on the lock.)
2) Rotate the object by 45°. Use the Paint-on supports tool and draw the desired shape on the bottom part of the box. The drawing should be continuous so that the stand does not fall apart. You can adjust the brush size to fit your needs. When you're happy with the image, switch to Smart fill and paint the entire bottom surface of the object with it.
3) Now we need to set the properties of the organic supports in the menu Print Settings → Support material. You can use my settings as shown in the pictures below, but I encourage you to experiment and look for other options.
4) The last thing is to hide the object itself so that only the supports remain visible. Add Height Range Modifier starting at 2 mm and up to some high value, say 200 mm. For this range change Layers and Perimeters setting and set everything to 0. Don't forget to also set Infill to 0%.
I hope your work was successful and be sure to share your original design!
