2-in-1 Dog Whistles

Dog owners no longer need separate whistles!

This whistles can be blown from either side and combine a standard double tone whistle (4 kHz) with a high pitched dog whistle (8, 10 or 12 kHz). Sturdy and compact, only 6 x 1.6 x 0.6 cm in size. Two variants of each frequency included, one with a frequency imprint and one without.

Since you might not hear the high pitched dog whistles at all (depending on your age), use a freqency measuring app for testing. I use this android app.

Warning:

All whistles are very loud which can harm the ears, so please protect your ears and don't use it near other people or animals! The high pitched dog whistles may seem quiet to you, but that's because humans (especially in old age) perceive higher sounds less loudly or not at all - unlike many animals and younger people.

How to print:

A friendly request:  due to the short wavelength of high tones, this print requires a very well calibrated printer for the small structures inside. Please do not rate this design negatively if it does not work with your printer.

Use a line width of 0.4 mm and a layer height of 0.2 mm, 8 top layers and 6 bottom layers.

The whistles requires correct positioning of the Z-seam - it shouldn't be placed in the narrow air passages inside the whistle. Use the “Z Seam Alignment: User specified” option in Cura or the "Seam Painting" option in PrusaSlicer to achieve this (see pictures above).

Print slowly to achieve sharp edges and don't use support!

There may be small variations in the frequencies actually generated, depending on the filament and the accuracy of your 3D printer.
