Description
My early 2015 Retina MacBook Pro (13 inch) still works great, but the display broke. Instead of getting a replacement display, I went the cheaper route to attach an external monitor and use it as a desktop computer for my kid. Some call this a slabtop.
Since the antennas are in the display for this model, I left some space two IPEX antennas I had lying around. The wires go through a thin channel at the left hinge side, so they are completely hidden. There are 3 antenna connectors on the wifi card, but this is what I had and I get a stable connection with >200MBit which is fine for me.
You need to remove the display as per the iFixit guide - then screw in the display replacement bar with the two antennas inside.
I left a gap to facilitate air flow from the vents.
Needs a bit of support for the hinge ends.
