Description
This tool is used to accurately place sanding disks on Dewalt (possibly other) RO disk sanders. Seeing how the holes punched in the disks should line up with the vacuum holes on the sander pad, this tool allows you to quickly and accurately place a new disk on the pad.
Not only will this allow you to quickly place a new sanding disk on your sander, but ensure the holes are not partially blocked. The added bonus is that the disk will always be correctly centered on the tool.
This tool must be printed in two parts, the tool itself and the handle and then may optionally be assembled. I found that the handle does aid in using the tool, but the choice is yours.
The handle inserts into the bottom of the alignment tool and is held in place with a drop of CA glue.
I originally designed this tool and posted it here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4258573) but decided to post it here as well.
My settings:
I used PLA, but there is no reason why whatever filament you happen to be using wouldn't work.
Optional Step:
You can opt to use this without the handle attached to the bottom, but I did find that it was easier to hold onto the tool with it. You can decide if you want to use it or not, it has no effect on the primary operation of the tool.
