Dual Z Belt Tensioner - Ender CR Neptune Kobra Aquila Gemini XY

This tensioner helps to maintain a good synchronisation between the two lead screws. That keeps the X gantry parallel to the bed during a print but also and especially between prints when the stepper motors are off. So the layers stay parallel as well.
 

With this tensioner, I have got much more consistent layer heights and the walls quality was improved especially when using thin layer heights.

Compatible Printers

This is a non-exhaustive list of compatible printers. This list was mostly done by inspecting the printers on pictures. So there may be some errors.

Bill of material per tensioner

• 1 x Ball Bearings 608 (8 mm x 22 mm x 7 mm)
• 1 x M3 x 8 SHCS bolt
• 1 x M3 T-nut (alternative : 3d printed part )
• 1 x M4 x 16 SHCS bolt
• 1 x M4 hex nut

Installation

Slide the tensioner from the center of the extrusion profil to the right (or left) to adjust the tension.

You can choose to place 1 or 2 tensioners depending on how much the belt needs to be tensioned.

NOTE - this tensioner could interfere with the extruder footprint.

I recommend you to test your max Z travel and to adjust your slicer profil and/or your firmware accordingly.

Material : PLA (or PETG, ASA, ABS if used in a heated chamber )

Supports : No

Resolution :  0.2 (recommended)

Infill : 20% (recommended)

Walls : 3 perimeters (recommended)
