Warning: Sharp things are sharp!

This model requires 2 sections of 18mm snap off razors. If you don't already have some they can be purchased for cheap from Amazon or anywhere that stocks box cutters. Here are some super cheap refills for $5. Or you can get some with the tool for $11. Don't get the thinner 9mm versions for this project.

After my OEM slide cutter broke off of my massive roll of plastic wrap I started searching for another one to print and was surprised when I didn't find any so I decided to take up the challenge of modeling one. It actually works much better than I had hoped. Not so much for aluminum foil or parchment paper, unfortunately. It's possible that a more steeply shaped blade would work better for those materials.

There are two rail attachment options. A clamping version and a glue it on version.

I suggest printing the clamping version rails in PETG so there is a bit of flex to get them to fit on the box. If you find you can't get it on without it breaking, print the thin rail as PETG gets more flexible if it is thinner. If you need wider rails for a thicker box, I'd suggest going into the FreeCAD save and modifying it there as simply increasing the size in your slicer is going to make the rails thicker.

If you don't want to fiddle with FreeCAD, thin material or just don't want to use PETG, use the glue it on version. With that option, if you need to replace the box, just print another set of rails. Or rip them off, I don't care. You do you.

Each rail is 100mm. Measure the length of your box and either expand one axis to your desired length or print a few of them. You can just butt them together without glue and it slides without much fuss. I printed 3 rails at 114mm for the box in the picture.

The end stops are tiny so I added a hole that you can put a piece of filament in for keeping it in the correct position while gluing it in place.

Glue the razors in place in their indentions as shown in the picture then glue the two blade holder pieces together.

I added a part for extra finger protection meant to be glued on to the side of the piece just like it on the blade holder for those people that don't like to live dangerously.

I have provided the FreeCAD saves if you want to modify/improve it.
