Description

This is a remix of the Rugged Box Parametric by Whitey.  This box is designed to hold 100 .45 ACP Cartridges in two removeable trays.  The center rib on the box base corresponds to the slots on the bottom of the ammo trays.  This allows one tray to be removed without the remaining tray shifting in the box.  The ammo trays protrude 5mm above the top of the box base to allow for easy removal.  The trays are removeable, and they are embossed on the side with the with the correct caliber

Print Notes:

  • This model was printed with Amolen Black & Green Silk PLA (I was going for a commo look, but didn't succeed) and Overture Black PLA.  If your box will see heavy use or will be exposed to high heat, PETG may be a better choice.
  • The component parts printed perfectly at .2mm layer height, however, the latches should be printed at .15 layer height and 100% infill for increased strength.
  • I've included both .stl files and pre-sliced gcodes (Prusa Slicer) for your convenience.  If your using the gcodes provided, then the models will be correctly oriented to the print bed.  If slicing the .stl files yourself, the base and lid should be printed flat side down (on the print bed).  The Ammo Trays should be printed face down (holes to the print bed), and the latches should be printed on their sides (holes to the print bed) and should be printed with a brim to stabilize them during the print.
  • While not necessary, the files include an embossed label to fit the box.  The included gcode also contains a pause for a color change to allow for contrasting print.

The only additional part that you will need to purchase are the M3 X 30mm screws.  They can be purchased on Amazon.
