Description
***IMPORTANT*** Some users have experienced difficulties snapping the fan in place. Please measure the fan duct to confirm your printing results have the recommended measurements before installing the fan. If your measurements are not within 0.02mm of the given dimensions, then printer calibration is recommended. DO NOT change the scale of the file to make things fit.
A simple cooling fan duct/fan mount for the Sovol SV06 3d printer. This small modification makes it easy to relocate the stock cooling fan to the back of the X-Carriage and provides better viewing of the hot end from the front. To install: disconnect and remove the stock cooling blower fan, and remove the mounting plate. Carefully snap the cooling blower fan into the fan duct with the air intake facing out and with the air-flow arrow pointing towards the air nozzle. Now snap the assembly onto the bottom of the X-Carriage by inserting the tab on the assembly into the center bottom slot of the carriage ( you should hear a clear snap when the retaining hook engages the front of the carriage), reconnect the cooling blower fan and you're done. This is an easy-to-print design, and you don't need supports. Please post your makes.
Please note: My main reason for this design was to have better visibility of the hot end nozzle from the front, and eliminate the recirculation of hot air from the surface of the hotbed at the beginning of the print.
This design benefits from a well-calibrated printer using 0.4 to 0.42mm perimeter shells. The inside dimensions for the fan insert are 40.1mm X 40.1mm square, and the vertical walls measure 1.2mm wide. I printed the fan duct/fan mount in PLA and have not experienced any deformation, but it is recommended that you print it with hi-temp filaments for added stability when printing at high temps.
