Description

09Apr23: Initial release

Nutcracker Drosselmeyer designed to be printed in parts to allow separate colors without requiring an MMU.  About 12.75" tall without base.

Notes:

  • Recommend assembling from the base up
  • Base without date included
  • Generally print parts upright as they are on the model
  • Parts to print with brim and supports to base:
    • Lever (may work better printed with Cape side down)
    • Beard
    • Cane (on it's side)
  • Parts to print with brim:
    • CaneCap
    • Leg (2x)
    • ArmUpper (2x)
    • ArmLower (2x)
    • All Toy parts
    • Buttons (may or may not need brim, best printed with flat back side down)
  • Special notes (there are some complex parts to the model, please read):
    • Toy parts are very small
      • ArmHand part included if Hand is not primtable by itself
      • Full toy included if parts are too small to print
  • Since toy parts are very small, things like eyes/eye brows/mustaches/hat chain/jewel are not printed and are colored with permanent marker/paint pen
  • Watch hands were too small to print, so just printed as part of the watch face and colored with permanent marker/paint pen
  • Insert the top of the body trim and seat completely before rotating the base under the body - it is delicate and will break off with too much force (not too much of a problem because the leg tabs go into the body and will hold the lower part in position
  • Lever/Beard/Cape need to be assembled together before inserting into the body
  • The beard is meant to slide on the outside of the body when the lever  moves, make sure the beard channel is clean and it moves smoothly before continuing the rest of the assembly
  • Keep beard and cape parallel to each other and slide vertically into the body
  • The lever pins go through the cape (which is not ideal) and once pressed in, cannot be easily removed, so make sure everything is fitting and moving appropriately before pressing them in
  • Scaling might work, I have not tried.  There are some tight tolerances, so may not work.
