HEQ-5 Tripod Adapter 

With this adapter you get a 1/4" or with a thread adapter 3/8" camera thread on a HEQ-5 tripod.
I use it for astrophotography and screw an Omegon polar wedge on it.
The adapter is 2 pieces, the bottom piece includes an M10 nut that connects to the HEQ-5 tripod. The upper part is connected to the lower part with 8 M4x25 bolts and nuts.
The central screw with 1/4" photo thread and an M6 washer is then screwed to the polar wedge.
The central screw and the M10 nut is additionally stiffened in the model by stiffeners on the inside, so you can turn this screw fairly tight without deforming anything. These become visible in the slicer. The top platform diameter is 80mm.

Print settings:

Perimeter: 4
Infill: 40% grid
Layer height: 0.2mm
Top/bottom layers: 7

I printed it in ABS but you can try another strong material.

The top part needs a small support for the north pin, I used a tree support for that.

BOM:

8x M4x25 cylinder head screw
8x M4 hex nut
1x M10 hex nut
1x 1/4" x 3/4" cylinder head screw
1x M6 washer

The adapter easily carries a KeenOne-EQ mount with an 80/480 F6 refractor, 60mm guide scope, MTF Focuser and cameras. The photo with the rig shows an earlier version without the stiffeners and made of white ABS. I wouldn't take white anymore, it's weaker in terms of layer adhesion, but it still held up very well. The final version has become significantly stiffer and more stable thanks to the black ABS and the internal reinforcements.
Please be sure before the first use that the adapter is stable enough and your layer adhesion will not become a problem, i take no responsibility for it.
