Description

I am learning to play the tambourine and instead of buying a new one, I decided to make it myself.

The downside is that mine is quite heavy, so I would print it with no more than 3 walls and low infill.

The body of galician tambourines is usually made of wood, but I wanted to test if a 3d printed body would work, and it works:

I printed it in PETG in order to hold summer temperatures. As the original design doesn't fit in Prusa's heated bed, I made it in 2 parts which must be glued and fixed with screws.

I uploaded the one piece version too, for those who own a bigger printer.

I built it through José Maceda's advices: http://percusiontradicional.es, which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/@percusiontra...

Skin patch: https://percusiontradicional0.sitios01.creowebs.com/index.php/pieles/pel-para-pandeireta

Ferrets: https://percusiontradicional0.sitios01.creowebs.com/index.php/ferre%C3%B1as/ferrena-rizada-55cm

You can see the video of how it sounds here (note that I'm still learning to play it):

If you decide to build it, go to the youtube video and in the video description check the steps for making the patch given by José Maceda.

Once the skin head is in place, fix the rim to the body of the tambourine with at least 8 screws, since once the skin begins to dry, it will exert a lot of tension and could slightly dislodge the rim as it happened to mine.

I used a medium skin (0.40-0.50mm).

I have just incorporated the file to make the tambourine on a printer with a 200x250mm bed, which is how I printed mine.
You will have to glue and fix the joints with M3 screws.
For gluing there are two pieces called gauge and that I used to position the two halves of the body of the tambourine when gluing them. Once the glue is dry, remove the gauges and place the reinforcing pieces in the joints and screw them.

For the ferreñas, I used the ones from the page indicated in the youtube video and as an axis I used 1.5mm wire that I cut as follows:
- 4 pieces of 55mm
- 5 pieces of 70mm
I insert it by rotating them with a drill and then they are cut to size on site.
